Moreton Bay is a large bay located on the eastern coast of Australia in the state of Queensland. It is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, as well as many interesting features.

- Moreton Island, located in Moreton Bay, is the third largest sand island in the world. It is approximately 95% national park and is home to the Tangalooma Wrecks dive site and a resident population of wild dolphins.

- The Moreton Bay Marine Park covers 3,340 square kilometres and was established in 1992 to protect the bay's unique marine life and habitats. It is home to dugongs, dolphins, turtles, and numerous fish species.

- St Helena Island, located in the southern part of Moreton Bay, was used as a prison in the 19th century. It is now a heritage-listed site and is open for guided tours.

- Moreton Bay is home to the world's largest sand islands, including Fraser Island and North Stradbroke Island. Fraser Island is a World Heritage Site and is the only place on earth where rainforest grows on sand dunes.

- The Moreton Bay fig tree is a large and iconic tree native to the area. It is often used in landscaping and can grow up to 40 metres tall.

- The Moreton Bay bug is a type of seafood that is popular in Queensland. It is a type of slipper lobster and is often served in restaurants as a delicacy.

- The Moreton Bay Railway Company was established in 1885 and was responsible for building a railway line from Brisbane to Sandgate. Today, the line is still in use and is known as the Shorncliffe railway line.

- The Moreton Bay area was home to the Jagera and Turrbal Indigenous peoples for thousands of years before the arrival of European settlers. Today, their descendants continue to live in the region and maintain a strong connection to their land and culture.
